In the middle of this garden,
a riot of color,
I kneel as though in worship.
Before this stone,
anonymous and gray,
I pluck a daisy,
prepare to pray.
A petal at a time,
it stands in for my emotion,
I love you I hate you I love you,
you chose to steal away,
burdened by life,
you chose to steal away.
A rope to the neck,
a purposeful decision,
that carried you away,
and with you went my love,
my desire to breathe,
I pound the ground,
rip the daisy
into sad confetti.
I love you I hate you,
such a waste,
you're going by choice,
leaving me to kneel
alone in this garden
of red and blue
and golden hue-
it mocks the depth of
my love for you.

It makes me angry
that I have lost you forever
You have gone to heaven
to be with the other
wonderful people
whom we have known
