Finding a job using the internet can seem overwhelming at first glance. With all the job search engines, resume posting websites, and career networking sites, job seekers often don't know where to start. Thankfully, numerous job websites provide helpful information on career planning and starting an online job search.
Career Advice via Online Job Search Engines
Many online job search engines including Monster, Yahoo! Hotjobs, CareerBuilder, and Thingamajob allow job seekers to not only search for and apply to job openings, they also provide helpful career planning and job search advice. Topics include career transition, resume writing, job training, interview tips, career profiles, and much more. Some job search websites including Monster feature forums where candidates can network and share information on effective job search strategies.

The popular information website About.com features a wide variety of job search resources in its Jobs and Careers channel. However, Linkedin offers another helpful feature that allows job seekers to ask career related questions and have them answered by experts. To use this feature, simply click Answers from the top of the Linkedin home page.
Finding work during difficult economic times may be challenging, but it's not impossible. When job seekers take advantage of the wealth of online job search advice and career planning websites, the chances of finding a new job improve significantly.
