We live in a twisted and baffling world. I do not condone the actions of the man who recently made news, by taking the life of a late term abortion (Dr. Tiller). I am sure many share my opinion, but why these same people appear to have less trouble condoning a system which allows a doctor like Mr. Tiller to kill babies for profit, is downright baffling. The sudden outrage of some over the untimely death of Dr. Tiller, is hard to understand in light of the apathy toward all of the innocent life he has destroyed.

Dr. Tiller went into his office every day and business for him, as usual, was to rip babies away from the wombs that sustained their lives. Business as usual for our government leaders is to support this activity. For Dr. Tiller, who performed these actions daily, it wasn't difficult to see their broken and lifeless bodies and he didn't give a second thought about their identities or their futures. It was all part of business.

I wonder if he heard their screams or thought about their pain, as their bodies were being torn apart. Did he consider how he ought to dispose of these dead little human beings, or did they all go into a pile of what he decided was lifeless waste? Did he care about their mothers who might later suffer regret and despair over what they did to their own children? Probably not. You see, he had a business to run, and our government says that Dr. Tiller has rights, but little lives who can't defend themselves and survive on their own, have no rights. We have no responsibility to protect or care for them and their mothers needn't worry about making any motherly sacrifices. We are aghast at any trouble the mother may have to endure and some sacrifices are just too hard. Therefore, we will let the one who can't speak for himself make the ultimate sacrifice of all; his life. It's just easier that way because, in a godless society, the one who has no power can never hold us accountable.

We live in a country that talks non-stop about promoting peace, but we support a mother's right to commit violence against her unborn baby. We feel little outrage and sadness when unborn babies lose their lives every day in the name of 'choice', but we are suddenly outraged and saddened when a doctor who helps mothers to kill their own babies, loses his life at the hands of a nut. We are outraged by a man who kills a human being, who kills other human beings, and we vote for a president who supports a mother's right to have her unborn child killed, and a doctor's right to kill the child.

I wonder, would we feel this same outrage and sadness over actually seeing the mutilated and lifeless bodies of Dr. Tiller's work? Out of sight, out of mind, I guess. It is easy to call lifeless waste, lifeless waste, if we don't have to see the human limbs torn from the human torso, the tiny faces contorted in pain that is felt no more, the blood drained from the tiny veins, and the heart that once beat. We live in a twisted and baffling world.
