built-up toxins are one of the internal sources of stress for the body causing illness. The faster they can be pushed out of the system, the sooner the patient will begin to feel better. However, during the beginning of the process the patient is going to feel worse, with flu-like symptoms, as the toxins flood the blood stream and make their way out.
Some ways to help speed up detoxification and reduce detox symptoms are to drink lots of water, sweat, long baths with Epsom salts, and dry brushing the skin with a soft bristled shower and body brush, and even a doctor or naturopath monitored juice fast.
One quick way to get all the nutrition in your body is craving, without giving up fiber, is through green smoothies. These were first made popular within the raw food movement by Victoria Boutenko, of the Raw Family. Pull out the blender and add 2 cups of water, 2 huge handfuls of dark leafy greens such as spinach, chard, kale or romaine and blend it up. Now add all the fruits you love to eat. Frozen fruit works especially well in a green smoothie. Blueberries are super high in antioxidants and are considered a "super food." Finally, for sweetness and a thick pleasant taste that goes down easy, add 3 or 4 bananas. Make and drink this every day.
Finally, many raw foodists support at vegetarian or vegan diet, as how can a dead animal offer live enzymes, so to some not fitting a strict raw criteria. You'll still need protein for proper muscle support especially while dealing with the muscle fatigue, strain, knots, and painful trigger points associated with fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue. Plenty of raw protein can be gotten simply by eating one or two avocados each day. Another vital source of protein is fermented foods. One fermented food that offers a smorgasbord of antioxidants and probiotics for healing and healthy function of intestinal flora is raw Kombucha tea. This tasty, naturally carbonated tea can be purchased at health food stores, or you can order Kombucha starters, or scobis, online and brew your own.
Healing the digestive tract and immune system while eliminating the toxins and allergens from the body can be accomplished by eating a healthy, balanced raw food diet. This will relieve the symptoms of fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue, while at the same time bringing the body to optimal health and vibrant energy.
