Raw foods diet helps Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome sufferers

get into the system, the body attacks them and the sufferer experiences allergic responses. And remember, the body is overcompensating and vacillating between over and underproduction of chemicals. One common reaction is the overproduction of "substance P" or the neuroreceptor that tells your brain to experience pain. People with these conditions will often have 5 times the amount of this neuroreceptor floating around their body than the average person. This results in intense pain at the lightest of touches or stimuli and can also be a direct application of allergic response.

So how then do we combat fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue? The first step is to cleanse the body of the allergens by eliminating from the diet any food that the body has been reacting to. This can take weeks or even a couple years before these foods can be reintroduced to the diet. The patient can use an elimination diet to figure out which foods they react to, or go to a naturopath who can do a blood test to identify the most likely allergens. This blood test is often more accurate than the scratch test administered by an allergy specialist.

Now on to the raw food diet and how it can eliminate the symptoms of fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue. All the things we do to our body tax it and when the system is overtaxed we need to find the gentlest course with optimal nutrition so the body can rest and heal. When we eat cooked foods, foods heated over 120 degrees Fahrenheit, our body must create a variety of digestive enzymes to process the food, taxing this already burdened system and spending energy on digestion that could be spent on healing. When we eat whole raw foods many of the enzymes that the body needs to digest the food comes within the food itself, and the body doesn't have to spend so much energy breaking down the food. Eating organic as much as possible is also important for the sufferers of fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue as the pesticides and preservatives on conventionally raised food both carry potential allergens to the sensitive individual, and the body has to work hard to push those toxins back out of the body or store them within the fat cells of the body which will retoxify the body later.

Eating raw foods high in antioxidants such as fruits and leafy green vegetables will both fill the body with the nutrition it needs for optimal cellular regeneration and energy, and give the body the strength it needs to flush stored toxins out of the system. These
