John shivered against the cold as a wind gust blew snow in his face. His nose was red and cold, and he could hardly feel it, but it would not stop him from his endless pursuit. These were the times that he told himself it was the book and not her that kept him coming back, but one glimpse of her through the binoculars always refreshed him and held him close to her, but not close enough yet to touch.
It would not be long until she left the cold. Everything pointed to that including the new RV that she bought, but he was prepared for that too. A week after her purchase, he aquired a conversion van that would fit his needs regardless of where she went. Buying the GPS tracking device, listening devices and the tiny camera that he planted late one night to her RV would keep him in constant contact with her too. He felt confident that with any move she made, any sound she made, or any direction that she went that he would not be far from her.
Seeing movement inside her house again, John trained his binoculars once more on the back windows hoping to get a glimpse of her before sunset. She was waiting for him; he knew that. She just did not did know it yet.
She wanted him to see her; he knew that too. Why else would she leave her blinds open for him to watch her daily? It was just a matter of time until they were one. In the mean time, if she wanted to play this cat and mouse game, he had proven that he was more than willing.
Yes, there she was again. He could see that she was packing her suitcases. He would begin packing too then tonight. It would feel like they had done it together, and in his mind, he fantasized about doing just that as he watched her carefully place clothing into her luggage.
She needs me too, he mumbled to himself as he shifted on the hard ground to get a better angle to see what she was packing.
. . .
Jamie awoke with mixed feelings. This would be her last day in the little home that she loved dearly, but she knew that leaving tomorrow would be an adventure. At least, she hoped it would be. She kept reminding herself that she would be back in the spring, but something still filled her with dread.
After opening the blinds to let the morning sun in for her plants, she made her coffee and headed up to her office.
