The best fast food burger is the turkey burger, and it is also the healthiest.. It does not have the fat content that the beef hamburger has, consequently, it is leaner.
Hamburgers, which most of us refer to as the American food; is greasier. Fat has an effect on the heart; even in teens. It would be wise to start our children to eating turkey burgers before they know the difference.
Turkey, although healthier, must be seasoned very well. First of all, cook them well done, sprinkle some salt, pepper, garlic powder (and for those who like hot food); add some red pepper. After cooking the burger, toast the buns (you can also use wheat buns); add mustard or mayonnaise, catsup, pickles, or onions. You can also include lettuce and a tomato slice. If you prefer a cheeseburger, add a slice when you toast the bun. It is delicious!
You can make turkey burgers many ways: for example, if you have time; put your turkey into a bowl, chop up bellpepper, onion, and garlic (and add an egg); include for example, mushrooms, or jalapenos. They can be broiled on a barbecue pit, George Foreman broiler, or cooked on top of the stove for 15 minutes (turning once), until they are done. This is very healthy because you have included many vegetables. Many people are now using turkey at their picnics and barbeques instead of beef.
Many restaurants have added turkey burgers to their menus. They realize how healthy these burgers are. Beef burgers, of course, are the tastiest. Although it is okay to eat them occasionally; most children and adults eat them every day. That is unhealthy!
There are so many of the children who are overweight because of fast food which is usually hamburgers and sodas. A turkey burger will not add to your cholesterol as much as a beef burger.
Although many would disagree with me because when they think of a burger, naturally they are referring to a beef hamburger. Because it has been around for many years, and the turkey burger is a recent addition; that is understandable. Beef has its benefits, and as mentioned previously; I am saying that you should discontinue eating beef hamburgers. I, too, want a juicy beef hamburger at least once or twice a month! I would, however, recommend that people try the turkey burgers and include them in the diet as much as possible.
Serve the turkey burger with french fries, a baked potato, or a vegetable. Not only will you prefer them because of the health considerations; some people will prefer them to the beef hamburger.
