How to write more a day

Understand this very important fact from the very outset. As a writer, you simply cannot write when you are in the mood. By the same token, you cannot wait for inspiration from the Muse. Your job is to write and therefore, write you must.

For this reason, you need to have a writing plan in place. This writing plan will ensure that you write and meet a certain target on every writing day.

The first step is to look at the writing time available to you. Are you a full time writer? Do you have a job and write on a part-time basis? Whichever one applies to you, writing more in a day is possible with the right approach to your writing duties.

(A) For the Full Time Writer:

If you are a full time writer, then you already know that writing for a living is not a piece of cake. There are days on which you just won't be able to write. But don't let that bother you. On most days, you can write more if you do the following things.

Begin Early:

The best time to write is early in the morning. Set your alarm clock for 4:30am, wake up early and plunge into the day's writing duties with a clear head. Between 5:00am and 10:00am, that's a clear five hours. This is ample time in which you can accomplish a lot.

Set Deadlines:

It is very easy to leave your job undone and laze around all day. Even writers are not immune to this human tendency. To ensure that you write more in a day, set deadlines for yourself then try to beat the deadlines. For instance, if you write in long hand, set a deadline of thirty minutes for each 400 word article. If you type your articles on a computer, twenty minutes per 400 word article is a sensible deadline. Now multiply this by approximately six articles per day. Of course, you may not always meet your own deadlines but it will serve to spur you to write more.

(B) For the Part-Time Writer:

As a part-time writer, you actually need a great sense of time to write more than you are doing now. You have a full time job but you also write on a part time basis. So how do you make the most of your writing time?

Write After Office Hours:

At the end of the business day, schedule some hours for your writing. Make good use of these vital hours and try to do as much work as possible.

Write Fast:

You are rather cramped for time. Therefore, you need to practice speed writing or speed typing. This will ensure that a lot of work gets done within the limited time that you have. Yes, write as fast as you can and don't try to edit or correct your writing at this stage.

Use Soft wares:

This is the computer age, remember. So, if you want to write more a day, you need to take advantage of writing soft wares. There is a wonderful device that works with your voice. So, you don't need to type or write in long hand. You just speak and your words appear on the computer screen. Take advantage of this and other soft wares and increase your writing output.

Finally, be committed to your writing. Work hard at your writing and you can successfully write more in a day.
