Nutritional benefits of kiwi fruit

Kiwi fruit belongs to a group of super fruits which includes oranges, cranberries, pomegranates, bananas and apples. This group is renowned for their superior health benefits they can give to us.

The more popular Green Kiwi fruit has a sweet sour taste and a bright green flesh. This Green Kiwi fruit has more fiber, in a range of 3.4 gram per 100 gram. There is also Gold Kiwi fruit with bright golden flesh which has a tropical sweet taste. It has 1.4 gram fiber per 100 gram. Still under development by botanist is Red Kiwi fruit.

Kiwi fruit is naturally rich in nutrient and its vitamin C is simply remarkable. For cells and antibodies functions, you need your vitamin C every day. Just one kiwi fruit and you shall get your vitamin C supply for the whole day! The Gold kiwi fruit normally has 110 mg vitamin C, while the recommended dietary intake is 75 mg per day for an adult. Vitamin C is particularly famous as a shield against colds and flu.

Kiwi fruit as we mentioned earlier, rich in fiber. Fiber is essential to help cleanse and improve one's digestive system and promotes a healthy heart and body. Eating Kiwi fruit after a heavy meal will help to ease bloated condition. What's wonderful is, kiwi fruit has a mild laxative effect, thus unlike some other fruits, you will not rushing to the toilet soon after eating them.

Kiwi fruit is basically wholesome and loaded with many health benefits. Scientist has discovered that kiwi fruit contains phytochemical compounds which are important to prevent cancer. More phytonutrients can be found on more colorful fruits such as Kiwi fruit.

Kiwi fruit also richly loaded with potassium purportedly the same amount with mango. Potassium is known to be helpful in reducing high blood pressure and does wonder in regenerating of nerves and muscles quickly.

By containing four peaches' worth of folate, kiwi fruits thus are essential in providing the needed folate for women before and during pregnancy. Folate helps to develop healthy skin, blood cells as well as for baby development itself.

Antioxidants in kiwi fruit, polyphenols and corotenoids are great to protect us from the damaging free radicals effects. One kiwi fruit boasts the vitamin E of three apples! Vitamin E as we should know helps lower the cholesterol level and heal damaged skin tissues.

Weight watchers and diabetics should be happy to note that kiwi fruit, particularly the Green Kiwi fruit, has a low glycemic index and has as much dietary fiber as a serving of bran flakes.

With a unique taste and great nutritional values, kiwi fruit is easily a fruit that we longed for to munch away delightfully every day.
