Stock tips: Investing in the Brazilian stock market

Once again Brazil is turning into one of the world's favorite investment destinations. With the Brazilian economy recovering and its stock market rated as the world's number one in percentage gains, this is no surprise. Amidst the world's economic pessimism the IBOVESPA (most important Brazilian stock indicator) has advanced 27,41% according to the MSCI scale (created by Morgan Stanley Bank). In second place scored another BRIC, the Russian stock market with 25,7% MSCI. Brazil's IBOVESPA is also Latin America's largest stock exchange.

With this in mind and the slight recovery of world markets many international investors have broken their inertia and started to reinvest in the Brazilian stock market. What is it about Brazil that could justify the risk and what is the investor's incentive?

Brazil has a relatively stable government in comparison to other emerging nations. Their banks were not affected much by the world depression keeping their interest rates and profit rages among the highest in the world. This not only gives them room to adjust in case they need to in the near future but also speaks well about their financial maturity. They have shown to be solid financially in times of crisis. Another argument is that the Brazilian stock market is recovering from an almost 40% downfall in 2008, mainly in the last trimester. So you can expect some intense gains for 2009. Brazil's public debt has also been stabilized since 2003 and its gross income although affected in 2009 will nonetheless remain amongst the most stable worldwide.

Another reason why Brazil has managed to cope so well with the world economic crisis is that their market relies greatly in the supply of commodities to China. After an initial tendency in commodity prices to fall they have recovered enormously after China's strong demand in 2009.

For these reasons it is no wonder why foreign investment has surpassed 1.4 billion dollars in the beginning of this year. And home broker activity has increased over 30% since the beginning of the crisis. Perspectives are promising so try opening a trading account in the market or ask your broker how to effectively invest in the Brazilian stock market. A down turn in economy can always become an opportunity if you know where to find it, which is why an opportunity like this one shouldn't be missed. Internet is a wonderful tool if used correctly. Nowadays, there are infinite solutions to cutting distances and time to make, what in the past might have been very difficult, part of our day to day activities. The opportunity is out there and it is easier than you think.
