The Other Guy

The world as we know it, is a result of a collective consciousness, and is a reflection of how we view ourselves. Fear, stress, anxiety, insecurity, and selfishness pervade almost every aspect of our lives. And the greatest tragedy is that many people believe that this is the way life is supposed to be. Today's happenings in the world are a clear indication of a society that does not understand, or respect itself.

Quite a few folks use their struggles as an identity, and they can often become physically addicted to the emotional states that come from such experiences. Science has proven that depression, and nervousness has the same addictive qualities as heroin. People rationalize this behavior by accepting that unpleasant feelings are better than no feelings at all. And the greatest of all fears, is that if we dare to let go of our illusion and false identities we would simply vanish into thin air. One needs to ask, Are we really only the sum total of the things that we own, the job we work, or the positions we hold over are fellow souls? Are we really that small, and insignificant? ABSOULUTELY NOT! We only play small, to fit into ideals that were never our own to begin with.

Modern day life as a whole is only a shadow of what we are capable of being. As we are far greater than stupidity of war, and the madness of the rat race. History has taught us that no group, or individual, has ever enslaved the human spirit indefinitely. This is because what we carry inside of us is the light of God, and no act of terror, viciousness, cruelty, or inhumanity can contaminate the purity of God's love. So in the end, humankind's feeble attempt to control, and conquer are utterly futile. But still, the stubbornness of the human ego will continue to cause much suffering, until the collective experience of humanity shifts towards a more loving, caring, and compassionate path. And that day is coming!

World governments today are in a constant state of tension, as they urge their populations to stay on guard against the other guy. Billions of dollars are spent on new, and highly destructive weapons systems to protect us from the other guy. At the same time, on the other side, the other guy is building up their defenses, and influencing their people to be wary of us (the other, other guy). And so the animosity, and mistrust between the nations of the earth continue to grow, further fragmenting humanity from itself.
