Creation's Regret

There was once a moment
In the depths of time
Where the truth became
Two souls.
Born upon gossamer wings
They took to the air
Within the castle of one another's arms.
Memories fade
But love lasts through lifetimes
For if true love were a silver line of thread
It would wrap around this universe more times than gods could count
And that is how the world was born

When no one knew good nor evil
When existence was All That Was.
Angels swim through the sky
As mermaids fly through depths of the sea
The stars upon the ocean floor
See their reflection
Glittering in the twilight.
Let these words paint a picture in the mind
Let them be more than words
Let them be a moment
A memory
Let them be a gift for you see they are more
More than anything and everything
They are the story
Of what was once reality.
There were two souls
They were all
For no more was ever necessary.
They were Love
With no beginning, no end
No birth and no death.
So much more than Man
They were that which is
True and Perfect Love.
They knew no joy, no sorrow, no elation, no regret
They simply were Love.
Alas, that which is Creation is a harsh mistress indeed
Creation knew also no beginning, nor an end
But was curious of both
So she created that which is Time.
Love and Creation
Are all that surpass the falsehoods of Man's reality
But both are held within its walls
Sharing in all Mans half truths and deceits.
Love cannot be bound by time
But Love can feel Time's sadness
For Time rends new wounds
Does nothing to heal them
And in Time those two souls
That which is True Love
They lost one another over the sea of years
And the wind of ages.
They search still
Beyond human understanding
They hurt a kind of hurt
No mortal heart could ever endure
They know a kind of joy
No mortal heart could comprehend.
That is why love hurts.
That is why love is beautiful.
In the depths of their sorrow
They do still love
And in the depths of that love
They know pure ecstasy.
For longer than eternity can last
Is less than the time they will know that Love
That beautiful, beautiful sadness.
For Time is the one regret of Creation.
Existence was perfect
Until Time was known
And spread its pain across reality.
