Getting the kids ready and go to school, will require our multi-system to coordinate perfectly, and also on all the days. It is not an easy job especially if you are a single parent. The anticipation of evils like reaching school late or having forgotten lunch box or homework or having missed the school bus, many a times become a deciding factor of having a good day or bad day. And sure nobody wants to have a bad day.

'Time management' that involves a lot of preparations is the handy tool. The capsule enclosing the following is the key to 'rush', no, not rush, reach school on time.

1) Make a checklist of tasks that you do before leaving to school. Prioritize using different colors, and needless to say, start with high priority tasks.

2) Having and giving shower the previous evening is a good idea. Brushing teeth while at shower (if having shower before school) is also time saving.

3) Multi-task, rather than going to the room 10 times to get 10 different things. At one go, remember to take whatever is required.

4) Rather than selecting clothes to wear everyday, arrange the required sets of clothing for each child for each school day during the weekend or laundry day. This saves a lot of hunting, looking around and energy on the school days.

5) Knowing the following week's weather beforehand, will help better in organizing the clothes and accessories to be worn the following week.

6) At first place, if things are kept in the right places, finding them, or rather grabbing them will be lot easier. Like keeping the socks and footwear in pairs, coats, backpacks, etc.

7) Make sure that homework is completed the previous day.

8) Packing lunch, refrigerating it the previous evening is time beneficial. You have to just pick the lunch bag from the fridge before leaving your door the next day.

9) Store some handy food or breakfast bars in the refrigerator for the days when you are "really late" and have no time for breakfast. This is only 'in case' and do not make it habitual.

10) If you have 'late-risers', keep the alarm 15 minutes early or start waking them up few minutes early, giving them enough time to crawl on beds.

11) Keeping the closet organized with easy to wear but presentable is very helpful and tidy to.

12) Morning should be just to wake up, get ready and go. So homework and chores should be done when back from school the previous day.

13) Whenever possible, take help from each other. Any help is big.

14) If you have a fixed custom of pressing your clothes before school, either press it the previous evening or press a couple of them so they are ready for the next couple of days too.

15) Plan ahead for easy and healthy breakfast.

16) Always store and take readily available healthy snacks like baby carrots, tangerines or apples. They energy from them are long lasting too.

With these points, you will be surprised that you have few more minutes in hand. Remember to cross-check the checklist before you lock the door. And start your day peacefully with much less stress now.
