The issue of poverty has existed since the beginning of time. The sin of GREED guarantees that poverty will always be a problem in society. The Bible is full of advice and commandments on how to treat the poor. Many Christians who are sincere, read these passages and attempt to do their Christian duty. They open soup kitchens to feed the hungry, and have free clothing rooms to provide clothes for them to wear.
All these gifts of charity puts a small dent in the problem of poverty. It is never enough. Our political leaders live on over generous salaries. They do not want to deal with the issue of poverty however. In fact, they are experts in instigating a lynch mob mentality with the middle and upper class citizens. Welfare was a program that gave the poor just enough to stay above water, and be provided their BASIC HUMAN NEEDS. Politicians put into the minds of taxpayers , that all welfare recipients were leeching off the taxpayers, and they did not want to work. They were called "Lazy Parasites," by Shawn Haggerdy on talk radio, and callers called in full of rage and hate toward the poor.
This kind of brainwashing of hate planted seeds of evil toward the welfare recipients. While the taxpayers were building up rage in their blood, politicians were convincing them that welfare had to be dismantled, and the HANDOUTS had to STOP. The plot was set, and the middle and upper classes cheered over the plan created by our leaders, "'TO END WELFARE AS WE KNEW IT." Behind the scenes, taxpayers were willingly paying out hundreds of billions of dollars for new prisons to be built all across the country.
Politicians knew that as soon as they cut welfare, the poor would become depressed, destitute, and desperate. Our leaders counted on desperate people to do desperate things, so they could be locked up in all the new prisons. The "Welfare to Work" programs were only a smoke screen to cover the evil plot that was in action. A token few recipients were able to find jobs, and they were used as tokens to pretend that the work programs were working. Taxpayers got their REVENGE against the poor.
Politicians were laughing all the way to the bank. The female prison population doubled in the first ten years that welfare was dismantled. Homelessness became EPIDEMIC, and Grandparents by the mass were taking in grand children to bring up. The former welfare mothers were sent to prison for years, for crimes like, forging a check, prostitution, selling drugs, shop lifting, and anything they could come up with in order to survive. The children were ignored and abandoned by our public officials. Grand parents received a money stipend for taking in the children.
The $400. or $500. taxpayers had paid for a woman on welfare and her 3 or 4 children, has now turned into, $30,000. a year to keep her in prison. If her children had to go into Foster Care, the State is paying 6 to 8 times more than the mother received.. Trying to get rid of the poor is costing taxpayers a hundred times more than if they had provided welfare for the poor.
Prisons are the largest profit making businesses in this country. The poor and mentally ill fill the prisons to benefit the wealthy who operate them. The taxpayers who thought they were going to save money by getting welfare cut, are the victims of their own greed. They were manipulated and tricked, and the poor are being punished for being poor. In the mean time Law officials are making fat profits from this evil plot that has been put into motion. That is how an important news story about the poor ended up in America.
