Somehow teenage Americans are influenced by conservative pundits like Limbaugh, Beck, and O"Reilly. Many of them got their basic understanding of conservatism at home already. In what grade they have been influenced by these three radio talk show hosts, I don't have an idea, but we can do the numbers. Limbaugh's audience has been measured by approximately 20 million listeners. Out of those 20 million, there have to be many teenagers listening without counting the ones listening to Beck or O'Reilly.
We have to understand the not all teenagers are the same and they all are attracted by many different voices but their minds are wide open to screen what voices they prefer to influence them. There are teenagers that have more ability to stay focus and objective when they are listening while others are more feeling and emotionally driven. Teenagers are forming their belief system and they are not very bias as some of us adults are. I will also add that adults mind are not wide open because as we grow in knowledge we sent that knowledge to our psyche making us what we are. It doesn't mean, however, that what we have chosen as knowledge is correct. No teenager will be the same ten years from now. After that they have had probably established their belief system to probably never ever review it again and they probably become adults with bias or with knowledge.
We can't say that there is a big majority of teenagers being influenced by radio talk shows. Most teenagers are entertained by so many distractions this days that the least they want to hear is politics. I have listened to some interviewing in the streets like "the man on the streets" asking people, many teenagers, simple questions about politics and their lack of basic knowledge on it shocked me.
Teenagers today need to hear everything that is out there and form their own belief system. If they are trying to know the truth, they will find principles that work and in that way they will start their journey to the truth. No one will never know the whole truth but we only need pieces of it, that can give us an idea and then we can build on it line over line, precept over precept. That doesn't mean that all teenagers will not fall in the temptation of believing those things that will benefit them personally, instead of putting the nation's interests before their own interests. At least they will be exposed to things people seriously believe in and they will be able to choose from.
Rush Limbaugh, Beck and O"Reilly, talk about things like limited government, supply side economics, lowering taxes, deregulation, etc. These are real issues that liberals usually don't talk about. Even though many teenagers are not paying attention to what this conservative pundits are discussing there are some that are and comparing it with what the Main steam media and college professors are saying. Many will stay objective and focus which will eventually form their own personal belief system.
