Taking extreme measures to tackle over-population

We have many tests to determine if a person is sick or not; we just won't eat the sick weaklings. Third, if overpopulation is our main concern and a more fit society is our second, why should we care if people become sick and die? The stronger ones will survive, making society stronger.

Another objection is that we don't want society to take a step back. We don't want to become primitive, feeding on each other like inhabitants of a small island without technology or government. But is cannibalism really a step backwards? If we find a method of improving society while simultaneously saving the planet, isn't that a gigantic step forward? I am not suggesting we eat raw meat, as primitive, fireless societies did and do. I am merely suggesting that we look for a more immediate food source, as there are too many of us for the ones we currently use. Besides, we are eliminating the bottom of the gene pool, not the top. Those left to procreate will help to better society, not worsen it. If anything, technology will improve faster and government will become smarter.

Naturally, there are some squeamish people who would object to the mere thought of gnawing on human bone. We do not have to sell human rump steak. The meat from the weaklings could be ground for fast food restaurants, sold as soup stock, or labeled in a fashion to mitigate the thought of cannibalism. It could be given to soup kitchens or sent to the starving children in Africa and India. Many of us could avoid eating it altogether by choosing to buy pork, beef, or chicken instead. There would be no law ordering people to eat their brother's flesh; it would merely be available for consumption.

A further response to this solution might be a question about the ages. Why pick on the 25-35 year olds? I decided on that age bracket for a number of reasons. First, by the age of 25, any person has had ample time to train body or mind. Second, at around 35, if not before, the human body loses its prime; the meat would probably become tough and poor quality. Third, this large of a gap helps prevent cheating; the odds are that any person cheating on a test forty times will be caught at least once. Fourth, those that come close to hitting the butcher shop are likely to train themselves to be more mentally or physically fit for the next test, and having a supremely fit society is one of the goals.

Cannibalism as described here is the best solution to the overpopulation problem. It lowers the population, increases resources, betters society, and lessens animal cruelty. No other solution would help with so many problems; none are this diverse. None of them have even come close to working. This one is different. It would work spectacularly. All it needs is a team of people to create the test and a government willing to implement it.
