Becoming Exalted with your Racial Factions has two benefits. You are able to buy the mounts of that faction, and you also receive a 10% discount on the mounts and riding skills. With Wrath of the Lich King there is now also an achievement which grants the player a title, Ambassador. Reputation with racial factions is obtained by completing quests in Azeroth, the majority of quests are in Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor and range from level one to sixty.

For a level 80 player who hasn't already done this, players can go back and complete quests in the start zone hubs of other racial factions. This will give a boost in reputation with that racial faction (plus roughly 65% of faction gains goes towards all other racial factions) and allow the player to become exalted rather quickly.

Re-visiting and completing quests in Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor will not only boost reputation quickly with racial factions but also reward the player with Loremaster Achievements. Another way to gain reputation with racial factions is by completing the daily quests at the Argent Tournament quest hub in Ice Crown.

The repeatable quests in the Argent Tournament will not only get the player exalted with the racial factions but will also offer many new rewards such as new mounts and vanity pets. The least favourable method of gaining reputation is by handing in cloth at the Major Cities, handing in 60 Wool, 60 Mageweave, and 60 Silk will allow the player to turn in Runecloth for reputation. Handing in Runecloth is a repeatable quest offering 75 rep per stack. This best suits players who have alot of cloth from farming lower level instances or from levelling.

Like all reputation grinds it can be tedius and take a decent amount of playtime but in the end it is worth it. Ambassador is a title that is still not carried by the majority of wow players, and having all the mounts from the racial factions aligning with the players will give the player an edge of many others. By gaining this achievement, players not only have a chance at completing the Loremaster Achievements (which awards title Loremaster) but also can collect mounts from each faction to aim towards the 100 Mounts Achievement.

With 30 mounts obtainable by becoming an Ambassador this is a must have achievement if you are interested in collecting mounts. Level 60+ players can expect to gain exalted with one racial faction per day put in for questing.
