Product reviews: Apple iPod

I love my new Apple iPod Shuffle!

Music is something that makes people feel alive. Now people can feel alive on the go, around the house, at the gym, while jogging in the park, while doing boring, repetitive work, while barbecuing, while shopping, while driving, while organizing one's closet, while reading endless blogs about random subjects-pretty much anywhere, any place, any time!

This new iPod thing is a train I thought I'd never ride for several reasons: (or so I thought)

1. They're too expensive. Why spend all that money when we have radios/CD players in our car/office/home? Why not just get a cheap, crappy little portable mp3 player if you want to take your music with you?
2. They're too trendy. Why should I get something just because everybody else has one?
3. They're made by Apple, creators of the Mac, who are all a bunch of hip MySpacers with fancy design degrees. Why support a company who made me cry every time I had to use that worthless, pink "Chiklet," as I used to call my former office G-something.

When I received the Apple iPod Shuffle from my boyfriend as a gift for Christmas, I was overjoyed! In a matter of 2.1 seconds, I had thrown out every possible excuse for not wanting to join the Apple speedway. With one look at the packaging, the box, then the shuffle itself, I decided that maybe Apple was on to something all along.

After playing with my brand new Shuffle, I noticed everything I thought about the iPod business (well, almost everything) was false.

Not only was the Apple iPod Shuffle non-expensive, it was even cheaper than the non-Apple brand iPod I had originally picked out for myself. Not only was it cheaper, but it was a whole lot cooler, also.

Trendy? Sure, but sometimes trends create themselves for a reason. My super-compact, super-spiffy, silver-cased, Shuffle clip iPod thingy just completely blows any competition out of the water. Why spend money on an armband for your blah mp3 player when the Apple iPod Shuffle is made as a built-in clip? Just clip onto your waistband or shirt and you're ready to start experiencing life the way it should be-with music. (Your music)!

So after discovering my three hesitations were actually what made me love my Apple iPod the most, the only thing I have left to do is apologize.

I'm sorry Apple. I doubted your magnificence. After I have seen the light, accepted Apple into my heart, I can finally breathe free without having to worry about what might have happened if I had opened that box and found a huge, clunky thing that I would have regretted. Instead, there was a tiny piece of heaven that I will enjoy for many years to come. Thank you, Apple, for saving my soul!
