You are getting married! CONGRATS! One problem, your budget is really low! So you want to find ways to keep it as low as possible without going over the bank! Look at simple things to keep it from driving your bank account and sanity out the window!
Key things to look at:
1. What is your total budget?
2. How many people realistically do you want/need to invite?
3. Where are you getting married?
4. Venues and Vendors
5. Planning and more planning
So say your budget is low like between $500-3000. For most weddings, that is on the low end. A median wedding average would be $5000-10,000. And of course higher end weddings are over $10,000 on up to $50,000 or more. For budget weddings to look fantastic, you have to have a plan. Jot down some things that you cannot live without. If you have $500 to work with for instance, the only way to actually get the most bang for your buck is to do almost everything yourself and be really handy. You won't have to spend much for anything but food and maybe a dress.
For a wedding of $500, here are my suggestions to getting everything cheap! For the venue, if you are a member of a church, see if you can use that as the ceremony and reception site for no cost. If there is any kind of donation fee, see if you can work out with the pastor to do various errands and chores around the church to make up for it. Most pastors are willing to work with you. If you do not go church, you can always have a really nice backyard wedding at a family members house or yours that can really eliminate renting any space! You can barter services with that relative as well. Food will be your most expensive cost so try to keep your numbers down for this type of a wedding probably a safe number is 50 or less. I would even go as low as 20 if possible. If you find someplace that can cater for really low you can go that route. If most places charge $20 a person, you can see how 20 people can add up quickly! It might be a better idea to have a friend donate to cook for your wedding as a gift and someone else donate their cake services. It is always cool when family can pitch in and make your day extra special.
If you had a little more in your budget, here are some of my ideas for the do it yourself brides out there. If you could secure a venue to have the wedding ceremony and reception, you can always spare more for your guests in other ways. You can make your own favors. There are a million different sites that offer ideas. I would suggest looking
