Looking back at times gone by
When we look back at the things we've done there are so many memories
that conjure up in your mind. The times when you took the plane and went
on that trip back home. When you stayed at your younger sister's out in
the country of Alberta, or that time I went to my older sister's in the mountains
in Vancouver. There are so many memories that we take with us as time
goes by.
I look back at the memories some with a smile and some with pain, some
with mixed emotions. Its okay to look back to see what went on and what
could have been different. I know that there are things I could have done
differently when I went to my older sisters. We had some good times, some
fun times, took them out to Montana's. We went to the exhibition, played
games, felt like a kid all over again. Then there are those times when
we got into our sibling squabbles. Where we would not talk for days,
and then made up, wondering what it was we where mad at in the
first place.
When I look back at times gone by it leaves me with a nostalgic sense
of feeling. You can never undo what you've done, you can only store
them away in your treasure book of memories. For they are precious
to you. They are but a few of what you've been through, whether it made
you laugh or cry. The times in between when you met a kind stranger
or two. The times when you went shopping, brought new things and
made you feel good about yourself.
There are so many things we can reflect on in the past that will make
our heads spin. For we know where we've been, or the time I took
the train to go see my best friend in Ontario. When I had my first meal
in the dining car. Then looking out the window to see all the snow on
the bushes, for it was winter that time. When I was at my friend's and
we went to Wal-Mart shopping or when we went out to T.M MacGregor's
and watched the male strippers. Yes, I said the male strippers and
I don't mean to offend anyone, but it was fun. Its what living is all
about.
You've got to go back once in awhile and reflect on the memories,
because they are what keep you going when your lonely. They are
what keep you company when your feeling blue. Then you can at
least say that you went out and did some living. Then there was
the time I went with another friend of mine and had a lobster dinner
for the first time. Where she was showing me how to eat it, as I
did not know. It gave us a chuckle or two, but its what memories
are made of.
