Nowadays everybody seems to think that they know English. As in all things in life, many people speak it but few speak it really well. Practice is essential in speaking English well. It takes a lot of effort, time and will to master it in the best possible way.

Reading is also one of the things that will help you to speak English better. It will broaden your vocabulary, and subsequently, you will be more confident to speak it well. Read whenever you can and whatever you like! In the beginning, look up for all the unknown words in the dictionary. Gradually, you will see that the number of known words is increasing and you are able to speak with more skills. However, most people stop at some level of acquiring the knowledge. That is the case with English too. And that is not good.

When you have made the foundations and a good basis of English, you must go on. There are so many more things to learn. This essential basis is going to help you to widen your knowledge. It is not advisable to stop and get stuck there. Normally, your knowledge does not go anywhere and, therefore, you start to speak it with difficulty.

In order to speak English well, surround yourself with everything in English if that is your goal. Read papers everyday, Internet sites that you like in English. In fact, reading in all sorts of ways is an excellent way of improving your English speaking skills. Nothing can match the excitement and happiness when a native speaker tells you that your English is very good!

Going to England or an English speaking country is an ideal option, but many people cannot afford it. If you cannot go, reading and speaking with your friends will also help you to practice your English. However, I think that it is very good to visit some English speaking country to see and test your knowledge in everyday life. You will feel the everyday usage of language in its natural environment. There your level of English is going to improve even faster. Subconsciously, you will sense everything and all of a sudden your instinctive knowledge will start to emerge and therefore your ability to speak English better.

Then you will be able to compare your inner knowledge with others and you will realise that you are thinking in English. That is, you might say, a dream come true!

Finally, in order to speak English well, you must be persistent and do it everyday. It is like playing a piano. Pianists play it everyday and so should you. Embrace English in your life and you will see where it is going. Practice, practice! Read, write and improve your language skills and you are on your way when you will be able to speak it with more and more confidence! Let it be funny and entertaining! As it should be, after all!
