Criteria for establishing a selling price on your used car

Here are some tips on selling your used car for a good price, and eliminating the dealer. Initially it helps to know that the dealer WANTS to give you the lowest possible price for your car. So they have no interest in helping you.
1.) Inspect your car closely, so that you understand all of its strengths and weaknesses.
2.) Get on the Kelly Blue Book sight or similar and punch in the information about your used vehicle. This will result in a good starting price for your car.
3.) Add or subtract from that price based on how fast you want your car to sell. If you want the highest possible price for your car, plan on being patient and spending a little money on advertising.
4.) If you just want to get the thing sold in a hurry, usually knock about 10& off the Blue Book price.
It seems simple, and it is. Patience and lack of sentimentality are the hardest parts of the process.
