Anyone who has a pet will treat it as a baby, which animals adore being the centre of attention and having a fuss make over them. If a pets owner had a baby, most pets will accept the child straight away which is a good thing but the problem is that some pets will not. The owner will make pay more attention to the baby then the pet. The pet will feel bitter towards the child and instant not like it.which might cause the owner to get rid of the pet which is a shame.
In our hectic days, a pet can distracting us and help us avoid stresses. We have many demands with a new child, changing diapers, feeding and bathing them and that can put a huge amount of stress on any new parent. Pets can helps us forget about stress and cheering us up
When you introduce a pet to a newborn, introduce the pet to the newborn like you are showing the newborn to a sibling, a proper introduction will avoid any negative feedback to the new member of the family. Let the pet sniff around the child for a introduction so it can get to know the child. Pet the animal, praise them and give them a treat for they good behaviour and over time the pet will associate the child with treats.
Pets are mainly just curiosity about the new member of the household and just need answers about it, although they can't express it through language, like small children. You can't just tell a pet that it is a wonderful thing that a new child is here and hope everything is alright, it's the same with a sibling being told about a new baby in the house they have to a proper introduction. Animals like small children can't understand us properly and will still be curious about the new member. Once their curiosity has been satisfied and receive positive feedback on the child things will turned back to normal over time in the household
Pets can also protect small children from danger when they are introduced at a mature age. As the children begin to age and grow more mature, the animals will bond them, play with them and might become the child's friend. We hear story's about cats that have awoken the owner of the house if there is a fire, saving the owner's life, dogs pulling children out of lakes and fires and saving their life
It was once believe that keeping a child away from pets would stop future allergies, when in fact it is the other way, introducing kids to pets at a early age it will help to prevent further allergies
