a woman can achieve in her life is not limited by the standards of the modern society. A modern woman can be empowered by the recent progress made by all of the female firsts - in governmental and managerial positions, in entertainment and in society. The limitations are no longer those imposed by the expectations of a breadwinner and homemaker family structure; they are, rather, set by a woman herself - by her aspirations, goals and her sense of determination.
In increasing numbers, women are achieving their goals, their efforts fueled by extensive backgrounds in the academia. More and more women are not settling down after they graduate from high school - they, instead, move on to colleges and universities for their bachelors' and masters' degrees. With levels of education beginning to surpass those of men, women today are looking at a bright future, where career options will be attainable on a basis of qualifications, not on a basis of sex.
At the end of the day, women have made a lot of steps forward to declare their independence, not just on paper or in the voting booths, but in the work force as well. They, now, have more control of their own destinies, able to take care of themselves even without relying on men to back them up in their decisions. And financial freedom, of course, almost always translates into increased levels of internal happiness - the more choices women have, the more they feel like they are in charge of their own lives, instead of putting their decisions into other people's hands and watching helplessly as someone else pulls the strings on their life outcomes.
