Out of the mouth of babes
Jeff couldn't believe his eyes. There were police cars in his driveway. He thought he had left the confrontations with the police and neighbors in the big city. Now they were at his house and his wife, Deena, was standing outside and all he could see was her long straightened hair and her arms waving around as she talked to the officer who had an annoyed look on his face. He pulled onto the edge of the yard on the south side since the police cars were conveniently parked in the driveway.
Across the street and several driveways up sat another police car and a fire and rescue ambulance. A motorcycle was parked on the sidewalk of all weird places to park and a man was being given oxygen while he was laid out on a stretcher. Jeff assumed either an accident or a heart attack. The old guy up the street where the ambulance was at was on his second marriage and this time to a much younger women. Jeff couldn't help but feel the man must be having a midlife crisis.
Jeff got out of the car and slid a hand through his hair before walking towards the police cars and his wife. He felt like a man waling to his own execution.Deena was standing there with an odd look on her face and their youngest daughter was running around chattering like normal.
"I swear Jeff, we had nothing to do with it." Deena said as Jeff got within hearing distance of her and the two officers.

"We got a call that your family might have witnessed the fight up the street that resulted in Dave Butler ending up on a stretcher."
"What?" just blurted out of Jeff's mouth. " Wait a minute, you mean that this is something that didn't happen here."
Deena swung her head around and snapped " Now you just wait one minute there mister."
Yeah, she was mad and Jeff knew he was in for an earful no matter what he said now and decided why wait. "Well, what am I suppose to think. I go to work and all you have to do is keep the girls out of trouble in this back water town and what do I find when I get home?" He lite a cigarette and continued " I come home to a driveway full of cops. I thought we moved out of the city to get away from this crap."
"Jeff, hold on a minute no need for you two to have words over this." The officer said as he eyed the two of them. He knew
