Up until a month ago I had never heard of Susan Boyle. I have since listened to her perform and I can see why people have become interested in her; what I don't understand is why people give her such a hard time with their negative comments.

The most recent article about her was "Shocker! Susan Boyle Doesn't Got Talent". Personally I am surprised that she has never been signed to a record label, when she first appeared on Britain's Got Talent, on which American Idol is based, the audience started laughing at her before she even started to sing.

The judges were not very kind when they first met her. Susan Boyle I believe is 48, she is average looking and does not look like a singer at all, she looks like an everyday person and who would guess that she would have the voice she has to sing what she does?

The judges and the audience were not laughing at her when she started to sing "Memory" from the broadway play "Cats" and straight away people took notice of her talent, although she finished second in the competition this is not the last time we will hear of Susan Boyle.

Throughout the whole competition the media continued to mock her even after hearing her sing for the first time. Second place is not all that bad in this type of competition and I am sure many of the people who continued to down play her abilities as a singer cannot sing as beautifully as she can.

YouTube plays a lot of her performances and I encourage you to check out some of these performances if you have not, of course if you still have not heard her sing, the first time you see her you too will probably laugh at her but like the judges and the audience you too will not be laughing when she starts to sing and you too will take notice of her talent.

It would not be surprising if she did have a CD out by christmas of this year. Susan Boyle's music is an acquired tatste because she goes into the vault with her selections; it is unlikely that she will ever do anything that is rock, pop, country and definitely not rap. She sticks with a lot of Broadway songs and songs that are not really mainstream.

It is unlikely that if she does get a record label and does release a CD that it will even get into the top 100 and that is not to be critical or negative, it is because if a person is not familiar with broadway muscial type songs they have probably never heard of the song " I Dreamed A Dream" which is another song that Susan Boyle performed and it was absolutely beautiful to listen to her do that song.

I wish she had won the top spot on Britain's Got Talent but she is discovered and out there now and regardless of what the media or the public may still think of Susan Boyle, one thing that she does not have to do is dream a dream. Susan Boyle is now a recognized singer.
