Introduction to firemaking in Runescape

Firemaking is commonly regarded as the most boring skills in Runescape, and to be honest it probably is, if you're not willing to pay the 7 dollars a month to become a member, the uses of firemaking are limited to making somewhere to cook food, (don't get me wrong this is great if your fishing on the island of Karamja, seeing as there is no stove on the island) and getting rid of the logs you can't be bothered to sell. However, it is an incredibly easy and fast skill to level, and people often use it to quickly climb the total level leader boards, or earn the shiny orange skill cape. I have included a brief guide on the method I use when training firemaking at the end of this article, but as there are many guides available on the Internet, it doesn't go into much detail.

If you have payed for a membership, firemaking becomes a lot more interesting, as a whole host of options are opened up to you. It offers the chance for a 300% bonus (yes three-hundred percent) when training prayer, in the form of Barbarian pyre ships, this method also means that, for each pyre you complete, you will also be granted a random item, which could be anything up to the much sought after dragon full helm. However this method doesn't grant you much firemaking xp, and requires you to slay level 304 Mithril Dragons.

If you have completed the 'All Fired Up Quest', it grants you access to the beacon network mini-game, strangely enough this requires you to light a beacon network, which for some reason, the people manning the beacons are unable to do themselves. It requires a firemaking level of 92 to complete in its entirety, but at levels 69 and 79 you are able to claim some of the benefits for your work, provided you light all of the beacons you can at these levels, the game rewards you with an item which can provide a slight increase to your training, a 2% boost to firemaking xp for each item wielded, and a total 5% boost if you use both. The item you receive at lvl 92, is the all powerful Inferno Adze, which functions as a dragon hatchet, runite pickaxe and general burning death stick. However if you want your logs for something else, such as fletching, it is not a good idea to use this one, as it will occasionally cause the logs you are cutting, to burst into flames, which will still reward you with woodcutting xp, but also some added firemaking xp equivalent to burning that type of log.

After completing the quest 'An Enlightened Journey', firemaking gives you another option for
