Poetry: I'm not sorry

by piglover

Created on: May 30, 2009

I'm not sorry that you cried

with that look in your eyes

like I had mortally wounded you.

I didn't,

obviously, for here you stand

on your own

facing the world that I forced you to face.

You have life skills that

will be your weapons and shield

when I have to go to the next level of life.

I will always watch from here and the hereafter,

but you will be okay.

You will understand when you see

eyes looking at you as if you

have mortally wounded the soul

of the looker.
