Poetry: Fallen angel

Janie's Song

Little Sally Two Shoes, cringing through the forest

with crown of fire upon her head and thorn upon her sea

A song of spheres upon the wind to bring her soul to rest.

With far to go the path was bold her way she could not see.

The specter of a deadly past locked tightly in her breast.

She knew her trip was perilous but did not have to be.

The specter screamed as banshee you shall not get away

I have your soul in my toke now lay you down for me

A glaze of smoke the specter spoke upon the pearly way

Little Sally Two Shoes with scars so bold her tale was told

From fuzzy head to mouth to arm the specter had his way

As age did dawn the light did crack the fire she tried to hold

The Moody Blues sang and she knew she was more than that

Of course you are the dragon hissed now come and play with me

Leave me alone the good girl cried I need not you nor that

Just leave me to my bed so warm alone there's only me.

Abash my lords the lady hath spoke the way ahead is flat.

For Little Sally Two Shoes doth lay grown in her bed of glee.

    Oh stone angel,
    You watch over the graves,
    These men long dead,
