Effect of Affection
Applying logic to a concept which readily defies such scrutiny could be a difficult task. One must consider multiple viewpoints when pondering a phenomenon for which many definitions both consensual and personal exist. Experience must be factored in and out of the equation so that bias does not necessarily have to be dismissed and could, in fact, be vital to a more complete understanding.
We have to accept that love is so much more than just mere romantic notion. It can and often is the best part in life. It is the great motivator. Sure, it has been known to cloud reason, but by doing so, it changes the course of history. If it weren't so, the face that launched a thousand ships would be just another face. Shakespeare's passion for all things theatrical would be just a hobby or a passing fancy at best.
I surmise that every story is a love story. That every tale has some aspect of love that may not always be apparent. For love too comes in many forms and can sometimes be disguised as anything but. Most all of the other emotions seem more closely related to love when viewing a bigger picture. Greed is a love for money. Lust is a love for sex. Even hate is what love may leave in it's absence. It would be difficult to identify without love's proximity or contemplation.
What makes love so abstract is it's counter intuitive qualities. To only be predictable in its unpredictability. But there are other incarnations of love that are that less obsessive and restrictive. True love defies restraint. It epitomizes freedom. It tears down walls and ensures that every room comes with a view. Even if that view be in your heart and memory.
Love may have been the first emotion ever experienced. A prelude to the first smile. A forethought to the first kiss and the direct cause for the first hug. Distance has no effect on love other than strengthening it's bond, solidifying it's connection. It's tribute is for granted taken but its resilience is legendary. It draws your center towards another and allows empathy to exist. It helps one to remember and encourages one to forget. It is an advocate of allowances and an anathema to rejection.
Though love always makes colors more vivid. Though it compels the scent of roses to be more intoxicating and music more moving. It's primary objective is to provide context and atmosphere for both perception and experience to unite as only lovers can.
