Just as important as psychological health is our families physical health. No doubt our world has evolved into what I call a Toxic Society. We use manufacturing processes that require the use of chemicals that are fatal to humans, plants, and animals. Where do these chemicals eventually end up? Only two things can happen once a chemical is synthesized. It can be neutralized by using a scientific process to convert it back to original elements, or it's left the way that it is and eventually enters our food and water supply. Sadly at this point it's mostly the latter. Let's not forget how much toxins are released from our vehicles everyday. They are an absurd source of air pollution. At this day in human history we have the capacity to do better. To make our world pure like it used to be. I think all of us should. You can help reduce the amount of chemicals needed to manufacture these products by recycling. It's a great way to help revitalize this world that sustains us.
If that's not bad enough we're also breathing in thousands of chemicals released into the air from manufacturing plants. Our air quality must have seen a dramatic drop in the last three-hundred years. Our homes are typically the worst offenders. Why? Because of poor ventilation in most instances. The dust, gases, pollen and other pollutants end up using our house like a Sonic Drive-in. Parking and hanging out for awhile. It's easy to understand why. There's no air flow to remove them. No plants to capture the gases and pollutants. Which means no fresh oxygen by the process of Photosynthesis. Here's one great idea that will dramatically improve the air quality in your home. Indoor house plants. That's right. Through the process of photosynthesis these plants release wonderful oxygen molecules into the air, they also absorb toxic chemicals, gases, and other pollutants according to a study by NASA. Keep in mind that during the day, plants use solar energy to make glucose from water and carbon dioxide. Energy for the plant is achieved by breaking this glucose back down into CO2 and H2O. This is where the oxygen molecules are generated. At night time the ratio of gas released switches when a plant goes through an entirely different process called cellular respiration. Although plants continually release both Oxygen and C02, at night time the plant is not releasing nearly the amount of Oxygen as it was during photosynthesis which occurs only during the hours of sunlight.
When you think about how much time you spend in your home it may not seem like a big deal at first. But think about how much time you spend in your home and how much time you actually spend outdoors. Once you include an eight hour workday, and eight hours of sleep, and four hours of television, you've already been indoors for twenty hours out of a twenty-four hour day. So look at it this way. Eighty-three percent of the day the air you're breathing in is probably substantially unhealthy. Our bodies simply were not made to filter our the air pollution that we have reached present day.
If we all make an effort to make a better world. We can all live a better, healthier life. And that is what it's all about, right? Let's not be a parasite to mother nature that eventually she will cleanse herself of.
