She's supposed to love him, but, you see,
she's consumed by that demon Jealousy
She watches him both night and day,
and he is never quite able to break away
from the chains that she has hung around his neck
which make it possible for her to keep him in check
The chains are choking him, his breath is almost gone
He slowly becomes more and more withdrawn
Which, in turn, causes her jealousy to stir within
Until it pricks at her skin like a painful pin
She is certain there is another who he loves more
And so her questions begin before he walks out the door
Where are you going? Who is she? When will you be back?
The chains around his neck begin their relentless attack
He is suffocating, yet she will not let him be
Do you like her? Do you love her? Is she better than me?
Her jealousy is killing him, but she can't let it go
It is rising within her from down far below
She can't stop it, control it, or beg it to leave
For it's killing her, too, but she does not believe
that she is wrong, or that what he tells her is true
Jealousy has marked her with its permanent tattoo
In the end, he will leave her, he'll manage to break free
And she will be Jealousy's only casualty

Jealousy
Cannot cope
With what is
Going on
In the outside
World
He incites
Anger
And frustration
Why has he
Got it
When I am
Better
I envy your look, your poise, your classy style
I want to hold your essence captive for a while
Have your manner when accepting
by S Barnard
Jealousy go
Forever
Stay away
You have deceived me
With your taunting ways
You shattered my dreams
Ruined my life
Robbed
She's supposed to love him, but, you see,
she's consumed by that demon Jealousy
She watches him both night and day,
and
Wasted Jealousy
I fell in love with you for your glittering eyes and smile, for the way you made it clear that you had wanted
