It is prudent for us all to try to save as much money as we can in this world of ours and at the same time help the carbon footprint.

All of us have to try and save money into days economical climate, and to be quite honest it is very dificult. One way to save money is in the utility bills that come through our letterbox every month. Let us face it by cutting these bills that drop through our letterbox like a plague of locusts we not only do ourselves a big favour but we do the same for the environment.

Let us look at the many ways to save money, we all have to keep warm in winter don't we, well we don't have to burn the paper $ or not if you purchase a new heating boiler well the old one is over twenty years isn't it. If it is then it is not doing the job that it is supposed to do. There are far more efficient heating boilers on the market these days. One more way to save money on your heating bills is to turn down your room thermostat, just turn it down just a little you wont feel the difference in the heating of your rooms, but you will feel the difference in your heating bill.

Electricity bills can run away with plenty of your money, how about changing your light bulbs to the new efficient variety they last longer and they do not use as much electricity as the old-fashioned variety.

How about turning of all the televisions that are on when you are not watching them perhaps, you do turn them of, but do you turn them of at the wall or do you just flick the remote control to standby. If you do that, did you know that when you do that and you see the little red light that comes on while it is on stand by? The television is using as much power as if you are watching it, so turn it of at the wall socket.

Make sure that you turn of every light when you go out of your home, you would be surprised to learn that many people do not turn of there lights when they go out, they leave them on, and by leaving them on you are burning your money for nothing.

We all like nice gardens, but a nice garden needs water, if you have a water meter, fitted watering your garden on a hot day will make your water meter dial spin like a spinning top every time the dial spins you are spending money. At the end of the summer season, you will collapse in shock at your water bill. Try using water buts to save water you can fit them so that water runs into them from the roof of your home, when the time comes to water in hot weather you will have plenty of rainwater to feed to your plants.

Remember that there are always plenty of ways to save on your utility bills it is just a little bit of common sense.
