Patriotism, do younger Americans care about it?
The doors at the ballot box have slowly opened to accept the independent choice of those once restricted. Time offered balance as now any American of age can vote, even the young American.
The 2008 presidential polls resulted in an estimated 23 million young American voters entering their choices into the ballot box. That would be one-third more than the last presidential campaign. Young Americans that are patriotic at heart tend to follow their freedoms to contribute to change. As for independent contribution by vote, the numbers speak for themselves as the young Americans are more interested in politics than ever before.
It is nice to know that young Americans practice patriotic tradition by casting their vote.
American Patriotic Web and the patriotic screen-names that have surfaced through young Twitter and Facebook account holders offers hints of patriotic sparks. Even Runescape members have chosen patriotic names to battle behind. Another proven moment that younger Americans do care about patriotism.
Heartfelt Lessons
Defining patriotism can vary depending upon the one defining. Patriotic and patriotism are branches from the word patriot, as patriotism surrounds the idea of freedoms and deep loyalty for independence within a country. Lessons found in a history class can expand the young American mind on the subject of patriotism.
Fashion to Fad
Red, white and blue together create America's national colors. During 1976 the colors splashed each street, each home, each young patriotic spirit. A moment that I will never forget at Fort Dix, New Jersey, well, until I traveled to downtown Raleigh, North Carolina during the 2008 July 4th celebration. The amount of young attendees climbed in numbers. Again, the numbers speak for themselves.
Red, white and blue shirts, bags, shoes, visors, hats, caps, balloons, and flags were in abundance as young Americans tested the waters of their patriotic styles.
Reports of young Americans not truly knowing what patriotism means can turn an eye, however that is why education is needed for the young American. Patriotism by fad does exist. The markets offer more in patriotic colors and sayings than they have in the past. Although it is not the worse scenario, it has grown in size when it comes to the young American.
Political Ring Master
The young American with a forceful voice, regardless if they sound pushy or not, will do what they can to be heard
