Let's face it, we all need to wear clothes. We also all want to look good. However, how do we manage to buy clothes that look good and make us feel good while not having to spend a small fortune on a closet full of clothes that you will most probably wear that often? The trick is to be imaginative, and the methods behind saving money on clothes could be much easier than you first thought.
How many times have you looked at the bottom of your jeans and thought, "They look scruffy, I need to throw them out." If this is you, and you have actually thrown the jeans out, then you are throwing good clothes and hard earned cash away without even a second thought. If the jeans look a bit scruffy at the bottom and are looking a bit ripped then cut them down into three quarter length trousers or shorts.
A pair of scissors, a careful hand and some sewing equipment or some no sew tape and you will have a brand new garment of clothing that cost you very little. Why not browse the sales to find jeans? If they are too long then it doesn't matter, you can cut them down and customize them. You can also inject new life into an old pair of jeans by doing this as well and fabric paint, sequins, iron on patches and much more besides can all help to revitalize your wardrobe while still saving money.
As well as customizing and reusing clothes that you already have in your closet or in the sales, why not check out second hand bargains. You can get some great vintage clothes from second hand stores and although there is a bit of a stigma attached to shopping in stores such as these, you can usually find that fantastic bargains can be found. You should always wash the garments when you get home before you wear them but after that, you are free to wear them or change them as you wish. Online auction sites such as EBay are also great places to get great clothes and I once got an eighty pound pair of jeans, brand new with the tags on for the measly price of just seven pounds. A bargain if I do say so myself!
There are plenty of ways to save money on clothes. Trawling the sales to put a few bits and pieces away for the next season is always a great idea and you should always make sure that you have the staple closet ingredients which will ensure that you have outfits for every occasion. A cheap pair of jeans can look fabulous with a nice top and some sexy heels but can also be made to look dressed down when rolled up, and worn with sandals or trainers. Why not give it a go yourself to see how much money you can save?
