Poetry: Cherish each moment

by Jon Coe

Created on: May 28, 2009

Every moment spent together
each time, in blustery weather
Every time you look at me
all the time I want to be

With you, without these thoughts
every ball that bounces, caughts
All the time we cry and frown
every drop that rains, a down

Every spark that lights a fire
those that don't, will aspire
Takes a hill of ants to make a nest
lift this burden from my chest

All the smiles and all the clenches
sitting on their waitng benches
If all the rain and all the green
could paint a sunshine picture scene

Tomorrow, or upon this clock
I could wish a flowery frock
Yester day, or then, I did
now, the time, I lift my lid

Bury me, but before you do
cherish a moment, passing through
Hold your hands up high with mine
and lift our heads to share with thine
