An old Indian mythological story speaks of the sweetness and strength of genuine friendship. Lord Vishnu(a hindu god) in one of his Avatars, takes birth as Krishnaand find friends among his classmates at the teacher's House. The students live with the teacher for a good number of years before they finish formal education. Lord Krishna finds a good friend in Kuchela, during his study years. They share a good time together and passes out. Like what happens to most of us today, these friends also loses contact with each other. Years later Krishnais now the king and Kuchela a very poor husband and father, struggling to make both ends meet. Living each day without being able to feed his children was making Kuchela more and more grievous. Kuchela knows that Krishna is now a King, but is reluctant to seek help. But unable to see his children starving, he finally decides to go to Krishna and ask for help. He packs a little savoury as a gift for his old friend and sets out to meet the King. When he reaches the Palace, he is worried and doubtful about his old friendship, if the King would recognise a poor person as his friend or even remember an old friend. Confused, he decides to return, but just then the King spots him and calls him by his side. He hugs him and is overjoyed to meet his old friend. The shy Kuchela tries hiding his little gift. But his friend snatches that off him and eats it with great joy and pride. Kuchela still very ashamed of himself leaves the palace without telling his friend his purpose of visit. On returning, he finds his little hut transformed into a palace and his wife and children waiting his arrival. Lord Krishna had done everything possible to make his friend happy.
You don't need a mirror if you have a true friend. A friend is a reflection of your own self. One can tell the kind of person by looking at his friends. Finding a true friend is one of the most beautiful experiences. Friendships are a human need and if you are able to find one or two, your life is half worth it. To have a friend to support and encourage without any hidden conditions is one lucky charm to have.
Friendships have no rules and that freedom makes you happy and powerful. It will inspire and encourage you. Friendship doesn't have any religion or colour and a true friend is with you in all ups and downs. True friendship is one gift you find to be with you, to support and enhance you in life. It broadens your views and strengthens you as a better person. The companionship that starts from school or college or from any other field of life, strikes when you start enjoying things together. Similar tastes and perspectives make this special relationship grow based on trust and simple love. The jokes you share, the movies watched together, the troubles and mischief, every part of the friendship is vibrant and colourful, good enough to make you smile when remembered later.
True friendship does not need telling. Your friend will do what you need without you having to tell him. Time or money will not erase the lovely moments shared once together. Friendship is never about money, but about the support and presence in each others lives. A friend is to celebrate your joys with and weep away your sorrows, for the rest of your lives
