Why bad things happen to Gods children
I am a child of God and my mom just passed away. In a worldly point of view that is a pretty big Bad Thing. My teacher asked me to have this assignment in on Friday. If I had written this paper Friday it would have been filled with things that wouldn't have made sense, and would have been unreadable. I hadn't had time to think about all the things that happened. I needed time to spend in The Word searching my answers. I needed to re-cap the events of her death.
Now that I look back it seems so obvious that I should have trusted Him the whole way through. The trials of the past now seem like nothing big. Yeah, I still have trials that are to come and I know that, but I also know that He will always be my El Shaddai God All Sufficient. His grace is sufficient just like His love and His mercy is sufficient; so is His faithfulness, His blood, His goodness, His cup, His breath. My God is the only real God ever to live. It took me a while to realize that my God is sufficient enough to take the place of a mother, and that He is always in control, and always patient, and always sufficient for me to accept His love.
He is also my Jehovah-Jireh The Lord will Provide. God provided me peace about my mom. He provided me with amazing friends and amazing family. He provided me with an amazing girl that loves Him more than herself. An amazing Christian family that is always there for anyone anytime. He is the provider of ultimate peace. Ultimate peace is God. Not peace in God, just God. That name of His is Jehovah-Shalom The Lord Our Peace. God is the ultimate peace; the only time you feel real peace is when you are in complete and holy worship with Him. Which takes us to the next name.
Jehovah-Shammah The Lord is There. The Lord is always there and is always willing to listen to us, but we aren't so open to His generous invitation. We in our human nature decide to do something else besides talk to Him all day. We decide to get on the Internet and look at porn, or just play games instead of take the most pleasurable experience in the world. We try and fill in God with things that seem pleasurable, but really aren't. We forget that the Lord is always there. He is there at three in the morning when we are sitting up at night wondering why. He never sleeps. He is always awake just to be with us in rough times. He is there to hold us when we go through trials that we know we can't handle. He never leaves our side. He has His angelic
