she was shouldered. She was the most understanding mother I ever encountered. She always tried to please us even if it was so hard for her. When we asked something, she made sure we had them if she could give it to us. Once my sister and I wanted to smoke just like our grandmother did with their pipes. She looked at us but she did not get mad, instead she said that she is going to bring home the leaves that we wanted to smoke. She did not shout and told us that smoking was not for little girls like us. When she came home from the fields, we asked if she had the leaves we needed to smoke. She just smiled and told us that she forgot all about it. She kept telling us that she forgot all about it until everything was forgotten and our attention was diverted to other things. If I think about that thing I smile to myself. If I were her I would have scolded my children for asking something that is not for children but mother was different. She was the most understanding mother and the most patient one. I love mother and I always think of the things she taught and did to us.
I am so grateful that I had a mother like my mother. I wouldn't be what I am today without her teachings when I was a little girl. Mother will always be in my heart and mind and her teachings about life and being a woman will always guide me.
