God never sleeps. The last reference on this topic of whether or not God sleeps can be found in the book of Genisis - "On the seventh day He rested." God is always overlooking the earth and saying, "Behold." God is watching very closely. He even knows the numbers of hairs on each person's head.
The Bible tells us to acknowledge Him in all of our ways. I have thought long and hard about that Bible verse and I came to a peaceful conclusion. Whenever I acknowledge God as my maker, lay my sins before him and ask for forgiveness, he is quick to forgive.
Trying to set good examples for others who do may not have a personal relationship with God is a good beginning I have found, to get closer to God. God is a spirit. Those who have gone to the grave are resting in peace. We don't know if they are aware of that fact. God wants all of us to walk in Spirit and in Truth. That is the example that he is setting for us. What we do know, is that when Christ comes back for us, the first ones to rise will be those that are physically dead and resting in their graves. The sequence of the quickening of the dead is still a mystery to me and I accept that fact.
Had Jesus not risen from his physical death we would not even be alive today. Our sins kill us, and adversely affect members of our families, our friends, co-workers, and society at large. The wages of sin is death. A spiritual death can occur while a person is still physically alive. These poor folks, who are lost in their sins and have turned away from the voice of their conscience are at high risk for - at the very least - being judged severely when Judgment Day comes.
The Bible also tells us that what we now see with our human eyesight is the same as if we were looking though a glass darkly. We know only a little. Now, with all that going on - just to begin with - is enough to keep any concerned party awake and vigilant or ever watching.
The Bible instructs us to do the same - to follow the example set before us and to take seriously God's instructions to us to be "ever vigilant". We are supposed to be watching for the second coming of Christ, and we have been provided with many signs and wonders that prove to me that God does not sleep.
Ridiculous questions bordering on insolence and blasphemy against the Holy Spirit - to ask if God sleeps. The question is trite and barely deserves an answer, but if you want to know the truth seek God and ask Him if he ever sleeps. Let others know what you find out so that you will not be caught sleeping or worse yet, being idle. Idle hands are the devil's workshop. Idle minds and vain imaginations can mislead so many. Whatever is lovely, whatever is pure, whatever is beautiful - think on these things. One parting word, there is one Bible verse that says so much with few words, and that is Exodus 14:14 - may it bring you peace of mind, as well.
