I do not think gender should matter in choosing a Supreme Court nominee. The candidates should be looked at as people applying for a life long job.

When the President considers gender as the main indicator of choice, this will be interpreted as using prejudicial bias. It is not the job of the President to balance out people's views.

The main job of the Justices on the Supreme Court is to interpret the Constitution to the best of their knowledge. The Justices are there to be objective and not subjective.

It should not matter if the Justices' views are conservative or liberal, the Justices should abide by the law. If they cannot abide by the laws that have been put in place, the President has the right to remind them.

I do not want President Barack Hussein Obama to choose a woman because it is the popular choice. I would consider that to be foolish if it were the case. Once the President makes it official, that person will be on the Supreme Court until they die.

I want the President of the United States to choose someone that would be fair in interpreting the laws of the land. The choice should not be how tough the person is either. What has toughness got to do with law interpretation?

When the President says what he wants and what he expects should be done on the Supreme Court, he is sending the wrong message to the public. He is also sending a subliminal message to his choice in a Justice.

The Supreme Court should not be looked at as an outlet for political views. The Justices will then review cases according to their views and not according to the law. That will not be fair to a lot of people. If the President forgets why a person is chosen for the Supreme Court, it is up to the American people to remind him.

Sometimes when people watch too many reality shows, they do not take life seriously enough. Choosing someone for the Supreme Court is serious business. As citizens, we sometimes forget the real meaning of government and the duties of the office.

It should not matter if the Supreme Court has all men or all women. What is important is that the nominee will have a fair interpretation of the Constitution. A person will not make a good Justice if he or she takes a case personally. A good Justice reminds the other Justices to be fair in interpreting the laws of the land.

I hope the choice would be justified. President Obama do the right thing and practice the rule of law!
