We all should always be aware where ever we travel of the danger of terrorist attacks. You do not have to be in some sort of war zone to be caught in some kind of firefight or to be bombed, it can and does happen all to frequently in the safest of all country's even your own. no one even thinks to tell us how to react if and when we are caught up in such an attack.
We all live in uncertain times, it might be the uncertainty of the economic climate or we might just be a little bit uncertain of traveling to other countries because of terrorism. but as certain atrocities in the UK and the USA have shown we are not even safe in our own countries. So with this in mind its a good time to remind ourselves of how to cope when we get caught in a terrorist attack.
Terrorism is something that we all must live with, in most countries that we visit there will be some form of terror. So how do we live with it and what must we do when caught up in a terrorist attack?
It all depends what kind of attack it is, it might be on your flight in the aircraft its self or it could be in your hotel as it was in Mumbai India, or in the rail station at the same place. On the other hand, you could be just getting your visa from an Embassy, whatever the scenario you must always be prepared for the worst.
I have a small insight to what happens when a person is caught in such circumstance's as my dad used to rescue hostages in terrorist situations and over the last few months we have talked about what happens and what a person should do. Without a doubt if you are, going to be caught up in one of these situations then hopefully it will be in the UK. Now no one wants to be caught in these terrible situations but in The UK they are best at dealing with any hostages taken, it might be on a train aircraft or in a building but rest assured that you will be rescued and at a minimum loss of life.
First, let us look at how not to be taken in the first place. Look to your Government information on countries that there is renewed terrorist activity, if there is renewed activity then think carefully about going to that country can that visit wait if it can then don't go. But if it is imperative that you must go then take precautions do not wear clothes that make you stand out in the crowd you will be the first target to be taken, keep to yourselves don't bring attention to yourself, don't flash the cash about, in other words try to be invisible.
