Raleigh is a fun place to be in. There are so many attractive areas, parks and museums in Raleigh that make it difficult to pin point exactly the most fun spot to be at with your family. There are places that have Go-karts, while others have water games. Some have places just for toddlers, while some have open spaces for children, adults and pets.

Cheerful cries of children can be heard while they wait in line to enjoy a ride on the train at Pullen Park and at the Carousel. The number one family site in the state, the park ranked the best in NC, Pullen Park has become a favourite of the local residents and also a hot spot for tourists.

Raleigh has a number of centers and places where you can take your family for a fun outing. Be it from games to food to shopping, Raleigh has it all.

#1. Pullen Park

Pullen Park located at 520 Ashe Avenue is the ultimate big time in family entertainment. Land and water sport, there's activities for everyone. The train C. P. Huntington, named after the Vice President of South Pacific Railways, takes you right across the bridge over Lake Howell, from where you can see the kiddy boats and the many family sized pedal boats. The greenery is fantastic. Rides under little tunnels and through tress, rushing past the sand pits for children and the picnic spots, it is a truly fantastic experience. Yes, it also gives you a view of the little picnic island situated in the centre of lake Powell, where many a romantic couple spend their day, cherishing their time together.

There is a walk along the edge of the lake and the shade of the trees makes it an ideal walk spot whether for exercise or for pleasure. Water fountains at almost every turn, gives it an added charm. Picnic tables set out under the trees is nothing but short of ingenuous. Open air party!

The Pullen Park committee also host a number of events as per booking schedules and back it up with third party catering facilities for those interested.

Pullen Aquatic Centre holds swimming competitions and other swimming activities in addition to the American Red Cross Learn-to-swim Instructions Program.

Pullen's Theatre In The Park, invites visitors to view their comedy, drama, musical and Shakespeare plays.

For children, some of the best attractions apart from the train ride and the pedal boats is the Merry-Go-Ride Carousel with the many colorful horses; seating for the entire family. The open play area has many swing sets for everyone and the slide, monkey bars and the sand
