When you hear the word skatepark, the first thing that comes to mind is skateboarding. Most people think skateboarders, but to bring an eye opener to the blind world, skateparks are one of the most diverse places to be! You see, hear, etc., a wide range of things from a lot of different people. Skatepark etiquette consist and comes from a wide range of people, sports and social groups.
When you attend a skatepark you first spot your skateboarders, rollerbladers and your bicycle riders. All of these activities are different sports that contain different people. Yes all people are different, but even more different are the social groups. The skateboarders call the bicycle riders metal pedalers. The bicycle riders call the skateboarders wood pushers and both groups call the rollerbladers fruit booters. The same goes for the rollerbladers.
For the ones who compete in multiple of these sports choose to leave the insults alone. Some skateboarders have friends who compete in other sports and they too choose to leave the insults alone most of the time. No matter what thecase they still stay within their social group. If your skateboardring your mainly hanging out with other skateboarders at the skatepark.
At the skateparks you often see your beginners. Beginners are usually the ones who have a sense of fear and feel uncomfortable. They seem lost, feel out of place and most of the time keep distant from others. These are the people who stand back away from the crowd scared to participate like the others.
You have your skatepark regulars. These are the people who are at the skatepark as much as possible. They are known by their name and face. Regulars are often outgoing and pretty good at what they do. These are the ones who are often in the spotlight. Like your regulars you have your pros. These guys aren't literally pros and a lot of times your regulars are the pros. These guys are the ones who are sponsored and show their talent and ability all over the skatepark. They are looked up to by beginners!
Speaking of beginners... You have the parents! Your beginners are usually young kids who are brought to the skatepark by their parents. Most people, especially older people wouldn't be caught dead at the the park with their parents. They see something like that as uncool, but for the younger kids it's expected to be accompanied by a parent. People really don't pay the parents any mind. Parents are the one's who are often walking around, keeping an eye out for their little one in fear of their child's safety. Sometimes you have the lazy parent who just seems to not notice anything their child is getting into.
Sad to say you have the skatepark jerk. The jerk is the cocky guy who thinks he's the best at the park. This person is often involved or starting some type of confrontation.
Last, but not least, you have language of all kinds. The words flaring from people's mouth at a skatepark can go on forever. You hear just about anything and everything. From vulgar language to friendly jokes, the list goes on!
