Writing to the empty titles category is one of the other ways to earn some quick or additional money on Helium. This is besides, your earning money through upfront payments. You should maintain at least one writing and one rating star to earn the "empty title" bonus payment.

Helium requires that you should be the first person to write for an advertised topic. Helium follows Greenwich Mean Time (GMT). The articles submitted by writers needs to be approved and accepted within its guidelines and is duly date stamped. Each article contesting for the empty titles bonus has to follow the same set of rules and standards, as followed for earning money through Upfront payments. For earning upfront payments, a writer has to have one writing star and one rating star and must have written in eligible channels under the governed time periods.

Once you reach 17 articles, if 25% or more of your articles are in competitive titles, all of your articles would qualify for writing stars. The articles should be written as of the 25th of the month and should remain until the 24th of the following month, 23:59 GMT. Each eligible article must conform to Helium User Agreement and Writing Standards. Make sure to have flying stars (writing and rating) by the end of the months, when Helium calculates payments for Upfront payments and Empty titles. Once you qualify for the above criteria, you will see your payments on the 1st of each month, under the Adjustments section under Earnings and Payments, seen under the "My Helium" section.

You can search your own favorite category under the Title Finder section, which is under the "My Helium" section. For example, you can either choose Travel or Arts and Humanities, if that's your expertise. You could also choose Empty titles as well. Make sure to check nobody else has already written for a displayed topic. You have to be the first person! Time is the key factor with effective planning.

Some of the benefits of writing for empty titles are very rewarding and promising. Don't worry because at times, the topic for which you have written need not be competitive, but in the long run, your article is supposed to fetch more money and there are probabilities that somebody else could also write for the suggested topic. On the contrary, you could even be the only writer to the respected topic. Don't give up, you have nothing to lose, but earn more bonus money!
