Poetry: Facing life

Not Today

I turn my head from side to side and stay silent.
Too many attackers for me to surrender.
I'd never make it out alive.
How do I escape?

I am not ready to face them today.
I need to arm my body with my mind.
Time for solitary confinement
Just for a day or two.

When it's all about getting the most When the minimal is used to obtain it,
The game is not being played fair.
People work hard at not caring.

Businesses bleed innocent persons' blood.
One man profits, two million suffer.
And where do I find myself?
Working for the devil.

Not today.
Maybe tomorrow.
