Poetry: City nights

by Louise Wulfe

Created on: May 24, 2009   Last Updated: July 08, 2009

City lights in the night sky.

Eerie feeling,

Even darkness is not safe.

Fire on the horizon,

Glowing in the distance.

Hope of civilization

Compelling us to draw ever closer.

Inside the city boundaries,

Doesn't look as bright here.

Light envelops,

Giving the impression of safety.

Shadowed alleys

Dominate the landscape.

City lights are deceptive.
