Like much of the nation today, Raleigh North Carolina is suffering from high unemployment. In figures released on May 22, the overall state rate is 10.8 percent, slightly higher than the national average. Raleigh's is around 8 percent. The good news is that it's held steady in the last three months and that Raleigh is beginning to see some employment increases. Raleigh has always been a great place to work and live. Dubbed the Silicon Valley of the East, the city is full of high-tech firms who not only provide good working opportunities but who recognize the importance of family as well.
