Because Christianity is something that is so important we often don't think clearly about how we want to create article about the subject. We allow our hearts to overwhelm the things that we already know about writing. This can be fine in some circumstances but in most the keys to writing a good Christian article is to write about those things that you are passionate about, but do so with the restraint that writing allows. Take advantage of the media that you are using and slow down. Create an article that stands out because it is full of passion, love and logic.
As with any article the first thing you must remember is that most people are never going to read anything besides the title. So, if you are lucky enough to get them to look at your title take advantage of it. Don't be coy in your title, make certain they know what your point is. Questions are often an excellent way to do this , especially in Christianity where there are so many good questions. Of special note for titles, verse numbers are not typically a good choice. At best, your audience already knows the verse, at worse it means nothing to them, instead consider a quote from the verse.
Once you convince them with the title to read your article you need to hook them. The job of the first line is not to answer questions. Instead, it has two important purposes, to tell the reader what to expect and show them why it is important. Set up the moral dilemma, the philosophical debate.
After that it is well worth considering that not everyone who reads this article will be a Christian. This is why it is so important for every Christian author to show humility and compassion in their work. Reading your article may be the first time someone truly thinks about Christianity, and if you start with arrogance or anger it will likely be the last. Make your writing show the same love for these people that you would if they asked you for help personally.
Tell stories. If it was good enough for Jesus, it's good enough for us. Examples and stories are one of the greatest teaching methods of the Christian faith. This is not the same as simply giving a testimony though. A good story in an article is not simply an experience but an idea expressed though the actions of the people in the story. Parables were interesting 2000 years ago and they still are today.
There is nothing in the world that can trump passion for writing an article that will catch people's attention. If people can see that you care about the subject they will care, even when the really don't. Yet if you want your article to matter it must have reason behind that passion and you can create article that not only catch people's attention but matter once they read them.
