I saw a movie once; I do not remember the name at the moment. In the movie, a man walks in a building thinking there are criminals hiding there, so he walks in, kills the few guards on the front gate and some more on the main entrance, he then walks around trampling on toddlers playing in the park and finally enters a bathroom where women are taking a bath and stares at them for sometime and then walks off in another direction to check on something. Does this sound similar? Well, the only difference is that the Americans are still very much in Iraq whereas they have absolutely no reason to be there. Seriously we need to ask ourselves some tough questions.
Why was Iraq attacked?
Was it meant to be a response to 9/11? if yes, why was Saudi Arabia not attacked.
Was it for oil? well if it was for oil then America and its people comes across as a very dangerous people, probably more dangerous than Taliban. Taliban kill in the name of religion but America has soiled its hands for oil.
Was it to teach Saddam a lesson? If yes, then why punish the Iraqi people? Why destroy the Iraqi nation and economy?
Was it because Iraq was building Nuclear weapons? If yes, where are those weapons?
Was it because Iraq had become weak and vulnerable after the long war with Iran and could easily be taken over? If yes, then America is as dangerous as Taliban and as much a threat to a civil society as Al Qaida.
It has been almost six years since the American army invaded Iraq. With the help and support of friendly armies it continues to occupy Iraq and carry out loot and plunder in Iraq. America proved beyond doubt that democracy is just an excuse and that it will attack and destroy at will as soon as it finds a suitable target. This is what gives ammunition to the people who blow themselves up, people who have lost hope and are ready to kill anyone and everyone for absolutely no reason.
How does America hope to sell democracy to the people of the world when it goes around trampling on rights of ordinary citizens of the free world for absolutely no reason?
How does America prove that it really does believe in peaceful mutual co-existence? What steps can the American government take to regain some respect in the Islamic and for that matter in the whole world? If you do not know the answer to that then you need to visit earth soon.
As for the answer, America should pull out of Iraq as soon as possible. It should rebuild what it has destroyed, help locals form a government that works and leave Iraq and its people so that they can start rebuilding their nation. Ideally this should happen before Iraq becomes as poor and the Iraqi people lose hope just as Afghanistan already has and just as Pakistan is in the process of.
